Question 1

Can scanned PDFs get bookmarks automatically?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For image-based (scanned) PDFs the tool runs OCR first, then detects the table of contents page and generates hierarchical bookmarks. Text-based PDFs are parsed directly.

Question 2

What if a scanned book has no separate contents page?

Accepted Answer

The tool tries to detect heading structure from the body text to auto-generate bookmarks; if nothing reliable is found it tells you instead of producing wrong bookmarks.

Question 3

Is my uploaded PDF safe?

Accepted Answer

Files are used only to generate bookmarks and are not stored or shared after processing. Bookmarks are written back in your browser locally.

Question 4

What file size is supported?

Accepted Answer

No install needed, just open the web page. Large PDFs are supported, up to about 1000MB per file.

Question 5

Are bookmark levels and page numbers detected automatically?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Level-1/2/3 heading hierarchy and their page numbers are detected automatically, producing clickable navigation bookmarks.
